Workshop & Campout

As part of a multi-year project to restore the living aquifers of the Black Mesa watershed that provides our most precious resource to Dine and Hopi peoples, there will be a FREE 3-Day Earthworks Workshop from July 23-25th on Native land in Black Mesa that is open to everyone across Turtle Island. The Workshop will involve the education and implementation of low energy erosion control earthworks for road stabilization. We will learn how to create One Rock Dams and Zuni Bowl structures that will recharge the seeps and springs of the High Desert. We may also work with tools, Native seed saving, clay pottery, and more. All of these activities are optional if you would prefer to herd sheep, farm, work with wool, or do anything else to help resistor families during this time.
